SYNOPSIS
A real life coming of age film. An authentic and raw glimpse of real time adolescence of the people of a small town in the middle of nowhere Illinois. Footage and interviews from December 2018 to July 2022 shows the personalities and stories of the youth. A moment of time where kids were old enough to make their decisions and act how they wanted without any second thought. Nothing was planned or staged. A late 90’s sony camcorder shows the genuine emotion of these moments created and shared with those around. A beautiful glimmer of freedom of being young that will never happen again.

This is fully a true independent film. Every aspect from the editing the music, the funding and even the poster was fully done by me. I genuinely put my full heart into OUT GETTING RIBS. The film was officially screened at a local AMC on August 13th 2022 to a sold out crowd. It did well and was received better than I expected. Months later when the dvds were finalized I held a one day pop up shop straight from my childhood home garage. We had the dvd, original prints, and three different shirt designs ready for anyone. That was really successful and we broke even within the first 10 minutes of being open. This film really connects to people regardless if they personally know me or anyone apart of the film. There’s a real feeling that shines through it. I hope to have the dvd and much more available through this website very soon.
